San Quentin 1000 Mile Club |

As many of you know, fellow Tamalpans Diana Fitzpatrick and Kevin Rumon work with me coaching the San Quentin 100 Mile Running Club. We find working with the San Quentin inmates to be a rewarding experience and feel that we are helping the inmates, through running, make healthy improvements in their lives. Recently we were able to get some favorable publicity for the Club on the Flotrack website and through a KQED California Report program that chronicled the running of the San Quentin Marathon. As a result of these programs we have heard from several individuals asking how they could help support the San Quentin 1000 Mile Club. We have gained the approval of the Tamalpa Runners Board of Directors to tell these individuals that they can make a contribution to the Tamalpa Runners designated to support the San Quentin 1000 Mile Club. With Tamalpa being a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that donation should be tax deductible. We can use funds to finance the supplying of running shoes, running caps and running tee shirts to the members of the San Quentin 1000 Mile Club.
