2005 TCRS # 6 Results

Rodeo Valley, Marin Headlands, Distance ~6.1 miles
July 8, 2005
79 finishers - 18 women, 61 men

A classic evening in The Headlands. Thick fog, swirling winds. Chilly enough to hamper the timekeeper's fingers. Roy Rivers' Season of Magic continues. Karen Steele was quite happy with a very decisive victory. Attendance numbers a bit lower, certainly with vacations and the challenge of a Friday evening, but also as the tire kickers start thinking there are greener pastures out there. There aren't. Marin's version of the Pikes Peak climb. Course monitors included Tom Lyons, Mark Miller, Bill Bushnell and Steve Shapiro. Finish line included Sam Hirabayashi, Pamela Spitz, Reese Laughlin, Kevin O'Donnell, Brad O'Brien, Sally and Lily Spitz. Lily and Tom O'Reilly did registration and results. Despite the conditions, participants hung around after for pot-luck food and drinks. Mike Holland had a truck-load of cold beer, which seems to be a hit whatever the temperature. The crowd finally dissipated as darkness came, leaving the surrounding valleys and nearby lagoon to sigh with relief. - J. Myers
