2007 TCRS #7 Results

Corte Madera Marsh Levees, Distance ~3.2 miles
August 12th, 2007
84 Finishers: 69 men, 25 women

With the exception of the occasional Tamalpa track meet, "flat and short" is not a description applied to many Tamalpa events, and particularly not many TCRS courses. Flat and short did describe August's run on the East Corte Madera marshlands, though, and no one was heard to be insistent on doing a second loop of the 3-mile course before taking their popsicle stick. Tom Lyons celebrated his return to racing after a knee procedure earlier this year with a come-from-behind victory over Terrence Bennett, with Terrence having clearly established himself as a force to be reckoned with this season. Kelsey Ripp won her second consecutive TCRS in a very exciting 3-way battle with Moriah Buckley and Tamara Gonzalez. Conditions were excellent, and Jen Erickson returned with her new daughter to bolster the finish line crew of Heidi, Lillie, Marilyn, Jay, Anitra, et al. Mike Holland filled in for a vacationing Brad O'Brien to make sure the course was as clear as one could ask for, with major assistance from David Bronstein and Ken Grebenstein. - Jim Myers
