2008 TCRS #8 Results

Bahia/Rush Creek, Distance 5.02 miles
September 21, 2008
75 Finishers: 57 men, 18 women

You can always start with the weather, and you'd be hard-pressed to find any complaints there. A postcard morning, with the slightest crispness in the air to welcome the first official day of autumn, and TCRS adherents thoroughly enjoyed almost perfect running conditions at September's Bahia/Rush Creek event. The course itself was in pristine shape, and included a very steep quarter-mile to "get rolling," a lengthy roller-coaster through the woods followed by a huge lap around a lagoon, followed by an endless series of mini-canyons just above the water's edge to complete a 5-mile loop back to our starting point. Mark McManus and Karen Steele were the day's victors, both by comfortable margins. Mike Holland was responsible for laying out the course and for trying to keep everyone somewhat orderly at the start so as not to disturb the nearby residents. Lillie, Tom, Jay, Anitra, Lorrie and friends worked their usual magic on the start and finish area. And just like that, the 2008 season is 80% concluded. - Jim Myers
