90 Finishers: 69 men, 21 women

In February we couldn't finish on the top of the hill because it was too wet. In July the hill was removed from the course plan a few days prior to the race due to a forecast of very warm temperatures. What's going on here? What mysteries lie hidden in this hill that they can't be entrusted to the TCRS Faithful, a group that knows a thing or two about running hills? As it was, the assigned course for the Friday evening July TCRSbecame a very, very flat 5K-Plus, primarily along marshland single-track, and a lively group handled their assignment well. The anticipated heat was significant, but some suggested there was a hint of breeze coming in off San Pablo Bay, though others disputed that. The final mile had a spectacular vista of Mount Tamalpais, yet some claim to have not noticed. The course began on a beautiful carpet of grass on the golf course fairway, and the evening concluded with what has become a very successful annual meal and social gathering in the adjoining clubhouse (regardless of what golf course we may be at.) Many Tamalpans played golf prior to the run, with a determined Roy Rivers capturing the combined golf/run "trophy". In the "just running" category, Jeff Peterson and Redwood High star Caitlin Schmitt were victors, with numerous youngsters finding themselves among the top finishers. Lillie, Anitra, Ray, Marilyn, Jay, Eve, Tammy, Terrence's mom and all the volunteers did what you know them to do so well every month, and no shortage of applause for Brad O'Brien for making this particular TCRS a memorable one.. - Jim Myers
