Sun, October 12th, Tamalpa’s Annual Johnny Lawson Cross Country PAUSATF Race

The Johnny Lawson Tamalpa Challenge is a race in memory of one of Tamalpa’s most gregarious and generous runners,  John Lawson, a Tamalpa Runner who, at age 44 died suddenly of a heart attack in 2000. He was a friend to many club members who loved him dearly. Our club carries on his spirit, as we host this race every year. The race is held in Miwok Meadows, in China Camp State Park, in San Rafael, CA.

To Register, visit the website. Click here.

Note that start times are changed this year. Women < 60 years of age start first at 9:00, men < 60 years of age start at 10:00, and combined women/men 60+ years of age start at 11:00. You are not required to run in your age-group, but 60+ runners can score for the 60+ teams only by running in the last race.

The course is the same as it was in 2024 at roughly 4.20 miles, which is mostly rolling single track trail and approximately 1/4 mile on asphalt. Start is near Miwok Mdws gate. Finish line and registration is in Miwok Mdws picnic area.
