39th Annual Super Bowl 7.4 Miler Sunday, Feb. 11th 2024  9am

C’mon, Let’s Go Niners!!!!!! Burdy & company are sure looking good! So, let’s do it again! Before sitting down to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 11th, come on out and race the Super Bowl 7 again.  With a 9am Handicapped start, we will begin this race at flat Crown Road in Kentfield – same as the last two years. The 7.4 mile race follows Flat Crown Road, Kentfield Gate to Larkspur Gate (go through the Larkspur gate) and up the Huckelberry Trail. Follow the Glen Fire Road down to Maytag trail, then back up to Blithedale Ridge. Head down to the pump station and a sharp turn back to the Kentfield gate to finish. We’ll post more details and a map soon. We need race volunteers and a handicapper to take over from Dave Covey, retiring race director.  For a map of the course, click here.

Start time for the first runners: 9am, the last runner will probably go off at about 10:40am. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this legendary local racing favorite activity on some of the most beautiful, Redwood lined trails on Mt. Tam.

Location: Flat Crown Road, Kentfield

Course: 7.4 miles, all Fire Roads and trails. There may be a hill or two. Please try to arrive by 8:30am.

Entry: $20

Awards: Champagne and ever-lasting glory to the winner, and bottles of wine to finishers #2 – #25.

Racers are subjectively handicapped according to the handicapper’s estimation of your perceived ability. Yes, *YOU* have an outstanding chance to win! If you’ve never run in the race before, please email David Leipsic at: davidleipsic@gmail.com to let him know you are coming, and any excuses for bribes, so he can assign an appropriate handicap for you. Unknown runners showing up unannounced will be assumed to be super-fit and super-fast! Bribes always considered, but not necessarily rewarded. (They better be really extravagant or clever!)

As always, Tamalpa guarantees perfect Super Bowl weather for the event. (We’ve had it all, from sunny, warm skies to pouring, freezing rain and blistery wind.).
